DI Engineering is a fast-growing civil and structural engineering contractor specialising in steelwork fabrication, refurbishment, and infrastructure projects across the UK. We are expanding our in-house fabrication capability and are seeking an experienced

Workshop Welder

with proven structural steelwork experience.

Role Overview

You will be working within our fabrication workshop, producing high-quality structural steel components in line with UKCA EXC2 requirements. The role involves reading fabrication drawings, preparing materials, welding to a high standard, and assisting with general workshop duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

Welding structural steelwork in accordance with UKCA EXC2. Working from fabrication drawings and following production schedules. Completing all tasks to a high standard of accuracy, quality, and safety. Preparing and setting up materials, including cutting, grinding, and tack-welding. Supporting workshop operations as required.

Requirements

Proven experience welding structural steelwork in a fabrication environment. Strong understanding of UKCA / EN1090 requirements (EXC2 minimum). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach. Reliability and good communication skills.

Testing & Certification

All candidates will be required to complete a

pre-employment welding test in MIG

. Successful applicants will then complete

welding codings in MIG

on commencement of employment.
