Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Assistant/Barista to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing high-quality beverages and food items. You will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service and attention to detail in food preparation and safety.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards. Operate the EPOS POS systems for order processing and cash handling. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including dining spaces, counters, and equipment. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures. Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall customer experience.

Skills

Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Proficiency in using POS systems such as EPOS is advantageous. Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during peak hours. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and sales reporting. Knowledge of food safety practices related to food preparation and serving. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience in food service or retail math is a plus. Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21 per hour
