Job Overview

Here at Corner Coffee we are seeking a passionate, organised and detail-oriented baker to make sure our high street customers can enjoy delicious home-baked treats alongside their speciality coffee. The ideal candidate for this role has plenty of experience in baking (whether professionally or at home) and is comfortable working solo and managing their own time. Adhering to the highest standards of quality in both flavour and aesthetic is essential, as well as working quickly and cleanly, and paying close attention to food hygiene standards.

The intention is for this role to occupy 12 - 20 hours per week over 2-3 afternoons (Monday and Friday, or Monday, Wednesday and Friday) depending on how much stock is required on any given week.

NOTE: initial training for this role will take place on Monday and Friday EVENINGS in August. Subsequently from September the role will transition to be worked in the afternoon. Please only apply if this availability works

Responsibilities

Make a range of great looking and great tasting cakes and cookies, working according to defined specs to ensure consistency across every batch. Track stock and wastage levels, and adjust baking schedules accordingly to ensure enough stock whilst keeping wastage to a minimum. Carry out weekly stock takes and order ingredients as required, adhering to FIFO when using ingredients. Contribute to ongoing innovation by contributing ideas for new core bakes and seasonal specials. Ensure that the highest food hygiene standards are always upheld and keeping the kitchen clean.

Requirements

Experience baking great cakes, whether in a professional environment or at home. A high level of attention to detail and a flair for making cakes look as beautiful as they taste. Knowledge of or willingness to learn and abide by the highest standards of food hygiene. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly according to the needs of the business.
