Commercial Agriculture Underwriter - Harrogate - ARD936739 Are you someone who thrives in the Insurance Industry? Then please, read on\xe2\x80\xa6 So, what does the role of a Commercial Underwriter here involve? As a Commercial Underwriter you will work with a panel of brokers in developing and underwriting profitable, target business in line with prescribed underwriting strategies and business plans across a range of Commercial Products including Combined Liability (contracting and non-contracting) and Commercial Combined. This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.

• Underwrite and administer risks (including new business and midterm adjustments) and issue accurate, compliant documentation on behalf of Insurers
• Demonstrate strong trading and negotiation skills in the attainment of new business.
• Achieve a high quality of underwriting and record keeping, as demonstrated through quality monitoring.
• Achieve any individual targets and contribute towards team/business targets.
• Contribute positively and proactively to business development and any relevant change.

What experience does a Commercial Underwriter need?

• Proven underwriting experience of Commercial Products including Commercial Combined and Combined Liability (contracting and non-contracting) and a good understanding of risk.
• Experience of working within an MGA environment and an understanding of the use of binding authority guidelines and authorities would be advantageous
• A working knowledge of legal and regulatory Insurance framework
• IT Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point. Experience of Acturis would also be advantageous
• Ideally CII qualified or working towards
