Commercial Assistant





Tetra Tech RPS is looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team. This (hybrid) role can be based in Birmingham, Abingdon or Cardiff.


About the Role:




You will support the monitoring and reviewing of project financial performance within the business unit, and advising colleagues involved in the financial performance of projects.


Working closely with Commercial Managers, and the finance team, the role will develop our commercial awareness and performance and bring consistency in approach. Key to success will be the growth of Gross Revenue and Net Revenue, improved profit margins, complemented by improvements in Backlog and DSO. In doing so, you will facilitate the successful delivery of our financial targets.


The role involves collaborative working to develop the quality of project managers and discipline leads approach to commercial matters, including improving the knowledge and skills of all those involved in project finances. The post holder will report directly to a Commercial Manager.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:



Performance



Work with the Commercial Manager to implement a strategy to improve and bring consistency to project financial performance. Collaborate with colleagues to generate greater business synergies. Contribute to monthly reports for the Commercial Manager and the Operations Director, with updates on any significant successes, challenges and opportunities.

Clients



Foster a client focused culture, putting a strong emphasis on clients in our communications. Work with colleagues in the promotion and communication of deliverable solutions, making best use of communications channels and in person meetings. Help promote the consultancy offer and wherever possible the Tetra Tech wider services.

People



Develop and maintain a culture that promotes and supports our staff and their career development to achieve attrition no greater than 10% per annum. Engagement



Apply a positive, proactive and effective internal and external engagement and communications, working closely with the Commercial Manger, Operations Director and Finance team. Contribute to initiatives Accord with all company processes and procedures in a timely manner Follow the company's delegation of authority and Tetra Tech policies Drive a continuous improvement mindset and activities across the business

Skills/Experience Required:



You'll need to have sound financial experience of the financial management in a consultancy setting. Excellent communications skills and good business acumen are a must to be able to add value to the team successfully achieving its objectives.

An ability to develop the Project Managers and discipline leads commercial knowledge Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills Some knowledge and experience of dealing with the legal requirements, policies, standards and guidance relevant to the work undertaken by the business Commercially aware, with a good understanding of financial and economic drivers within the discipline Good people skills Good financial and project management skills Takes ownership to achieve positive outcomes
