An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Commercial Dispute Resolution team as a Paralegal. As one of the largest and most experienced in the Midlands, our Dispute Resolution team has consistently achieved top Legal 500 rankings in commercial litigation, professional negligence and property litigation.
This role will suit candidates who have a genuine desire to progress their career in Commercial Litigation and work within a fast-paced team yet friendly team. You will be responsible for managing a personal caseload of litigated matters whilst also supporting senior members of the team.
This role is responsible for managing a personal caseload of Commercial Dispute Resolution matters whilst also supporting on more complex matters with senior members of the team. Responsible for liaising directly with clients and ensuring a high level of client care is provided at all times
This role reports directly to the Head of Commercial Dispute Resolution and based at our offices on Pride Park Derby, working Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:15.###
Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of Commercial Dispute Resolution matters that will include:
1. Contractual disputes.
2. Shareholder disputes.
3. Complex Debt Recovery disputes including insolvency.
4. Landlord & Tenant disputes such as possession and forfeiture.
5. Professional Negligence disputes. Prepare and review documents as instructed by senior team members.
Demonstrate a meticulous approach with great attention to detail.
Work collaboratively with senior team members on complex matters.
Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, often to tight deadlines and be able to prioritise tasks effectively.
Conduct legal research.
Provide administrative support where required.
Ensure matters are kept up to date in systems and new advancements are communicated to the relevant team members.
Record all time in the Tikit case management system, including non-billable activities.
Take on additional tasks as reasonably required by the Head of Commercial Dispute Resolution and/or senior team members.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will:Have a law degree (2.1 or higher) or other legal qualification.
Preferably have completed the Legal Practice Course.
Ideally a minimum of 6 months' litigation experience or debt recovery experience.
Possess excellent communication skills.
Have a sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, such as the Microsoft suite.
Be a hard-working and highly-motivated individual with the ability to work cohesively as part of a larger team
