Salary:

26,500 to 28,500 per annum (dependent on experience)

Based at:

Derby or Nottingham with agile working after probation. Additional travel required across the region

Contract:

Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week)

Do you enjoy creating events that connect businesses? Are you skilled at balancing creativity with commercial targets and deadlines to deliver successful outcomes? Can you source and build strong regional relationships with suppliers and stakeholders? Are you a confident communicator who wants to collaborate and bring ideas to life? If so, you could be our next Commercial Events team member.

In this role, you'll support the planning and delivery of the Chamber's annual flagship events, with a focus on commercial activity. You will be an important part in proudly showcasing and celebrating members, meeting deadlines and budgets, identifying engaging topics, themes and venues that demonstrate East Midlands business needs, developing and maintaining positive working relationships and delivering high-quality events.

You must be an excellent communicator to ensure that our events vision and outputs are understood by relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve success.

2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY



Venue management - Research and negotiate with venues to meet capacity, quality, and budget requirements. Event planning and delivery - Collaborate with colleagues and members to identify themes, schedule events, and ensure smooth delivery while meeting profit targets. Budget and sales - Monitor event spend and ticket sales, drive attendance through proactive outreach and internal engagement. Stakeholder coordination - Liaise with customers, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality service. Promotion - Provide timely event details to marketing teams for effective promotion and uphold brand standards. Administration - Maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement.

3. IDEALLY APPLICANTS WILL POSSESS



Proven experience in event planning and delivery, ideally in a commercial or B2B setting. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent communication skills. Tech-savvy with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems. A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a passion for creating outstanding events. Comfortable driving ticket sales. Skilled at tracking spend and ensuring outputs are met.
