Commercial Finance Analyst - Goole - \xc2\xa340,000 - \xc2\xa348,000 + Bonus

You\'ll also take a leading role in the consolidation of key central tasks throughout the year across all commercial categories. Supporting the Category Finance Manager with accounting, reporting and analysis on all aspects of the Commercial P&L including sales, margin, NPI, Discontinued Products etc.

You will need exceptional attention to detail and an inquisitive nature as the ability to question data is essential. Working to tight deadlines, you will need to produce analysis and information for Senior Management and your ability to communicate complex and technical data in a simple format will be vital in this role.

Commercial Finance Analyst Duties will include:

• Provide financial support and challenge to the specific commercial teams within the category
• Review sales and margin performance on a weekly basis, highlighting key variances to previous year and budget - supporting the commercial team with their understanding of performance
• Proactively lead the budgeting and forecasting process for key areas
• Lead budgets and forecasting for sales, margin and Product Price Variances (PPV)
• Lead the standard costing process
• Work closely with Senior Management to highlight any key risks within the latest forecast
• Deliver Category P&L\'s and Commercial Cost Centre reports
• Provide insight and analysis to help the business identify and realise margin improvement opportunities
• Support new product development and innovation, providing commercial analysis and commentary highlighting the risks and opportunities of introduction

The ideal candidate will be:

• Qualified/Part-Qualified Accountant
• With a proven practical background in an analytical role within an operationally focused business (along with experience in as many of the areas above as possible)
• You will have a passion for figures accompanied by an inquisitive mind so as to be able to analyse, understand and interpret results.
• The client wants to see applicants who can deliver and be proactive in their approach
• Ability to highlight areas for improvement and thoroughly enjoying the interrogation of financial information
• Experience presenting reports, forecasts, trends and recommendations to the team and senior management
• Advanced excel skills
