Interim Commercial Finance Analyst | Manchester - Office Based | 3-6 month contract | \xc2\xa3250 - \xc2\xa3350pd | Immediate Start

Marks Sattin are delighted to be working with a manufacturing business who are looking for a talented Commercial Finance Analyst to join their team. This is a 3 - 6 month interim contract, that could be extended for the right candidate.

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to drive strategic decision-making and optimize business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce comprehensive management information packs, including monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and cash flow analysis.
  • Act as a business partner to the operations team, providing a clear view of actuals versus forecasts and highlighting areas of concern or opportunity.
  • Design and deliver in-depth analysis to understand historical and current business performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manipulate and analyse large data sets to extract meaningful insights and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models and forecasts to support business planning and budgeting processes.
  • Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics, highlighting areas for improvement and implementing strategies to drive performance.
  • Utilise advanced tools, such as Power BI, to create visualisations and interactive dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain and enhance financial models, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and adherence to relevant accounting standards.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required, providing financial analysis and insights to assist in strategic decision-making.
About you
  • Proven experience in a similar finance analyst role, preferably within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in using financial analysis tools and software, with experience in Power BI being highly desirable.
  • Experience manipulating and analysing large data sets using tools such as Excel, SQL, or scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehousing solutions, such as Google BigQuery or Azure, would be advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance professionals.
