We are delighted to be exclusively partnering with The Newt in Somerset to find a Commercial Finance Manager within their Production and Innovation department.
The Newt in Somerset is a fine-quality grocery & beverage producer, direct-to-consumer supplier and indulgent hotel. Based in this beautiful country estate in Castle Cary with transcendent gardens, woodland, farmland and cider orchards. As the business expands into bigger production facilities, systems and commercial accountability has much more rigour. Better costing systems, material variances, measuring commercial impact and driving change for financial sustainability. This role will be key in supporting the business growth with commercial insight and control.

Responsibilities will include:

• Completion of the month end management pack and review of monthly management accounts, including KPI and MI reporting highlighting opportunity areas to drive commercial performance.
• Development of financial models and reports, including supporting annual and ad-hoc budgeting and business\xe2\x80\x99 cases
• Support various stakeholders in decision making through insightful analysis, highlighting opportunity areas to drive commercial performance process improvements and improve value for money in the supply chain
• Design, implementation and operation of weekly and monthly KPI reporting processes, including process improvement and systems redesign to provide relevant information to internal and external stakeholders
• Conduct detailed ad hoc strategic, financial and profitability analysts to construct and shape commercial propositions
• Work with procurement to ensure value for money in the supply chain
• Support wider finance team with month end reporting, statutory account information, business analysis and other finance tasks
• Develop production stock costing and internal invoicing methodologies
• Assisting stakeholders with the process of preparation and submission cases for CAPEX projects

Your Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Senior stakeholder experience
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ideally experience within FMCG / Manufacturing / Retail / Production environment
