The Role



As a

Commercial Combustion Gas Engineer

, you'll be responsible for the

maintenance, repair, and servicing of commercial gas and heating systems

, as well as supporting other mechanical and building services across the site.

You will carry out

planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

,

reactive

and

breakdown works

, ensuring that all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory regulations.

This is a client-facing role that requires strong technical ability, a proactive approach to fault finding, and a commitment to delivering the Platinum standard of service at all times.

Key Responsibilities



Carry out

PPM and reactive maintenance

on all commercial gas, heating, and mechanical systems in accordance with site schedules and asset lists. Diagnose and repair

faults on boilers, burners, gas appliances, and associated plant

. Conduct

gas safety inspections and testing

in line with current legislation and certification requirements. Support with the maintenance of

Water, and other mechanical systems

where required. Ensure

Risk Assessments

are prepared and followed for all works to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain accurate records using the

Computer-Based Maintenance System

(e.g. Concept), ensuring all jobs are closed out with detailed information. Supervise and support

subcontractors

working on site to ensure works are completed safely and to Platinum standards. Keep all

plant rooms and work areas

clean, tidy, and secure at all times. Provide technical feedback and recommendations to improve system performance and energy efficiency. Represent

Platinum Facilities Maintenance Services

in a professional manner at all times, building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience



Commercial Gas Safe qualifications

(COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, etc.). City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in

Mechanical Engineering

or

Building Services Maintenance

. Experience maintaining and repairing

commercial boilers, heating plant, and associated systems

. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Basic electrical knowledge desirable. Excellent communication and customer service skills.

F-Gas Qualification (preferred) Level 2 Mechanical NVQ/C&G or equivalent (required)
