We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and safety regulations, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities
Install, service, and repair gas appliances and systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations
Conduct routine inspections to ensure the safe operation of gas equipment
Diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs efficiently
Use a variety of tools including hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to complete tasks
Perform welding and plumbing tasks as required during installation or repair processes
Assist with mechanical assembly and disassembly of components
Carry out heavy lifting when handling large or bulky equipment or materials
Maintain accurate records of work carried out and report any safety concerns or issues
Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including safe handling of hazardous materials
Experience
Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role within the building services industry
Knowledge of welding techniques, plumbing systems, and mechanical principles
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment effectively
Familiarity with commercial driving licences is advantageous but not essential
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to installation processes
Experience with carpentry or related trades can be beneficial but is not mandatory
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or maintenance tasks
