Due to continued contract growth on our Defence contract, we require a Gas Engineer with experience and qualification in commercial gas to join our team at RNAS Yeovilton

Commercial Gas Engineer -

We are looking for skilled

Gas Engineers

capable of stripping down plant and systems, fault-finding, diagnosing issues, and carrying out high-quality repairs. The role involves

repair, maintenance, servicing, and installation

of gas, plumbing, and heating systems across our portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

Heating, Plumbing & Gas Engineering

Undertake heating engineering and plumbing duties including

reactive repairs

,

servicing of boilers and appliances

, installations, and associated works. Strip down plant and mechanical systems for detailed inspection, fault diagnosis, and repair.

Compliance & Safety

Issue notices and certificates required under relevant

gas safety regulations

. Follow

manufacturer instructions

when installing, servicing, or repairing appliances. Update

Gas Safety records

using electronic or manual documentation after completion of service and testing.

Materials & Stock Management

Request and acquire materials or stock from authorised suppliers through the approved ordering system.

Operational Duties

Participate in the on-call rota to provide

24/7 emergency cover

across the property portfolio. Drive company vehicles safely and courteously, ensuring vehicles are maintained to required standards through the compliance supervisor and fleet office. Maintain ongoing training and certifications as required by legislation and company policy.

Communication & Reporting

Maintain regular contact with the site supervisor and works co-ordinators to receive instructions and resolve issues. Record all completed works, ensuring accurate documentation of tasks, measurements, and calculations.

Essential Skills

MET1 - Domestic Gas Meter Installer

MET2 - Medium-Size / Low-Pressure Meter Installer

Desirable Skills & Experience

Oil & LPG experience or certification

Experience working with

high-temperature boilers

Preferred (but not essential): Experience with

renewable systems

, including

air source

and

ground source heat pumps
