Commercial Gas Engineer - Telford & Shrewsbury MOD Sites

Salary:

35,000 - 37,000 (DOE)

Hours:

40 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our expanding team supporting MOD sites across the region. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated engineer seeking long-term stability, a varied workload, and a professional working environment.

Job Overview

You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial gas systems and associated mechanical equipment. Your day-to-day duties will include:

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Routine servicing, diagnostics, and breakdown response Fault-finding and carrying out remedial works Supporting small project installations and system upgrades Working collaboratively with site teams to ensure compliance and safe working practices

Systems You Will Work On

Commercial boilers (various manufacturers) Gas-fired water heaters Radiant tube heaters Warm air heating systems Pipework, valves, and associated plant room equipment

Requirements & Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable, competent engineer with strong experience in commercial gas systems. The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer (minimum 3 years preferred) Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills Experience working on commercial heating systems and plant Current Commercial Gas qualifications (COCN1 / CODNCO1 or equivalent) Additional LPG / Catering gas qualifications beneficial but not essential Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals High standards of Health & Safety awareness Full UK Driving Licence
