The Commercial legal team in Deloitte's UK General Counsel office is responsible for supporting and advising the firm in relation to a wide range of legal and commercial matters.


We are looking for a talented and experienced lawyer with a proven ability to work on a wide variety of commercial matters. The role offers the candidate a hugely varied and interesting workload, and the opportunity to be part of a high performing team.


The scope of the role includes advising on and, where relevant, leading the negotiation of:

Large-scale procurement contracts for a range of goods and services Complex technology contracts including hardware, SaaS and associated licensing arrangements Managed services and outsourcing contracts Sponsorship, CSR, publishing and collaborations, contracts and initiatives IP matters: Trademark and brand protection Member firm arrangements with other Deloitte firms across the network Regulatory matters relating to commercial arrangements Implementation and use of Generative AI and other new technologies

Essentials:

Experienced and confident lawyer with a proven ability to work on a wide variety of commercial matters (including non-contentious and contentious) UK Qualified Lawyer with proven post qualification experience Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills, and ability to influence Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to quickly build connections and a highly collaborative approach Proven ability to handle sensitive information and situations Alignment and behaviour consistent with our Shared Values

Desirables:

In-house experience (some Professional Services or equivalent large complex organisational experience) Experience working on Generative AI or emerging technology matters

Personal independence

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
