We are seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Manager to join our Commercial and Operational Team. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the commercial performance of a portfolio of projects, ensuring profitability, cost control, and successful contract delivery.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping commercial strategy, supporting operational teams, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners across the business.
Hours:
40 hours per week, typically worked between 8:30am and 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage commercial activities across multiple projects and client accounts
Prepare, review, and approve valuations, variations, and final accounts
Manage subcontractor procurement, applications, valuations, and payments
Monitor and report on Cost vs Budget, forecasting, and commercial risk
Produce and present commercial reports to senior management
Ensure contracts are administered in line with company procedures and contractual requirements
Oversee accurate project records, work orders, and financial documentation
Raise and approve purchase orders in accordance with budgets and authorisation limits
Work closely with operational teams to support project delivery and performance
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain, and internal stakeholders
Attend and lead internal and external meetings as a senior commercial representative
Support and mentor junior commercial and operational staff
Drive continuous improvement within commercial and operational processes
Undertake additional duties as required to support business objectives
About You:
Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial role
Strong background in commercial and operational environments
Experience within construction, refurbishment, or related sectors (desirable)
Advanced Excel and reporting skills
Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and forecasting
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Ability to analyse complex information and manage commercial risk
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
Proactive, hands-on, and results-driven with a "can-do" attitude
