VANRATH are assisting a major Client with the Recruitment of an Experienced Senior Associate to join a growing and dynamic team based at their Belfast Office.
Hours - Mon -Fri - 09:00 - 17:00
Salary - Negotiable Depending on Experience
Responsibilities:

• We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Associate to support the team on a varied and high-quality caseload which will include acquisitions and disposals, development work and landlord and tenant matters.
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong commercial and technical experience in representing clients on a variety of real estate matters. We are particularly interested in candidates who can show experience in residential development and commercial leasing. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and have opportunities to be involved in business development.
• You will be supporting the wider growth agenda for the practice, and the role will provide every opportunity to develop your career to the next level and beyond.

Essential Criteria:

• Solid experience handling:
• Acquisitions and disposals
• Landlord and tenant matters
• Residential development
• Commercial leasing

2. Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of property law, including freehold and leasehold structures.
• Proficient in drafting and negotiating contracts, leases, and development agreements.
• Able to manage title reviews, due diligence, and deal structuring.

3. Client Management & Commercial Awareness

• Confident liaising directly with clients, understanding their commercial objectives.
• Strong commercial acumen; able to apply legal advice pragmatically to support client goals.
• Experience working with housebuilders, developers, landlords, or corporate occupiers is a plus.

4. Team & Collaboration

• A collaborative team player, able to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Willing to support more senior lawyers and supervise trainees/paralegals if needed.

5. Business Development

• Interest in or prior involvement in business development and client relationship management.
• Comfortable representing the firm at client meetings, events, or networking opportunities.

6. Professionalism & Communication

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
