We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. We have a position available to work on a brand new project in the recently refurbished 1988 bar & kitchen set on a stunning lake with beautiful scenery. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring that all food safety standards are met. This role is perfect for individuals looking to further their culinary skills in a dynamic kitchen environment, contributing to an exceptional dining experience.
Duties
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Support chefs in meal preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Follow food safety guidelines and hygiene practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Participate in catering events as required, assisting with food service and presentation.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
Learn various cooking techniques and recipes from experienced chefs to enhance culinary skills.
Requirements
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
Experience in meal preparation and food preparation is advantageous.
