We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary operations of our restaurant, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food production processes. Support the kitchen team in managing inventory, including receiving and storing food supplies. Participate in the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods. Follow recipes and presentation specifications as directed by head chefs or supervisors. Contribute to menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Uphold the restaurant's standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for culinary arts is key. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with an ability to work effectively within a team setting. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation. Ability to manage time efficiently, especially during peak service hours. A willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to various cooking styles. Understanding of basic cooking methods, ingredients, and culinary terminology.
