We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high standards of preparation and presentation. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment while contributing to the smooth running of service.
As a newly opened restaurant, we're looking for team members who show initiative, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The restaurant is currently open four evenings a week (Wednesday to Saturday) and for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays. Rotas are released weekly, with regular shifts prioritised for reliable and committed team members.
Responsibilities
Assist chefs with daily food preparation and cooking across various stations.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area in line with food safety standards.
Support senior chefs during service by preparing ingredients and plating dishes.
Ensure correct storage, labelling, and rotation of all ingredients and produce.
Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
Uphold the restaurant's standards of quality, efficiency, and presentation at all times.
Skills & Requirements
Previous experience in a professional kitchen is preferred.
Availability on Fridays and Saturdays is Essential.
Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour
