We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Commis, you will support the kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
Participate in food production processes, including cooking and plating of meals.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
Support in supervising junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Contribute to menu development by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
Uphold high standards of culinary presentation and taste in all dishes served.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, showcasing culinary skills and knowledge of food production.
Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
Experience in supervising or managing team members is advantageous.
Excellent cooking skills with a keen interest in developing further culinary expertise.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
A background in hospitality or restaurant experience is beneficial for this role.
