We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. The Commis will support senior chefs in daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth and efficient food production while maintaining strict food safety standards. Duties
Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of senior chefs, ensuring dishes meet quality standards.
Support the organisation and management of food production processes, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Supervise junior staff and coordinate team efforts during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.
Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing recipes.
Maintain stock levels by assisting with inventory checks and notifying management of shortages or expiry dates.
Uphold high standards of hospitality by providing excellent service during meal times, including serving guests when required.
Experience
Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen environments within restaurants or hospitality settings.
Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
Strong background in food safety practices and adherence to hygiene standards.
Knowledge of culinary techniques, food presentation, and restaurant operations.
Prior experience in serving customers or guests is advantageous but not essential.
