Duties

As a Commis, your primary responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service. Supporting the management team in supervising junior staff and training new recruits. Contributing to menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements. Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is clean, well-maintained, and used safely. Participating in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.

Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills:

Supervising experience within a kitchen environment is advantageous. Strong background in food production and preparation techniques. Effective team management abilities to foster a collaborative work atmosphere. Culinary experience with a passion for cooking and creating exceptional dishes.
