We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef / Kitchen Assistant to join our small kitchen team. You will play a vital role in supporting the culinary operations by assisting in food preparation and service ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly. Duties
Assist in the preparation of food items according to recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food preparation processes.
Support the kitchen team in cooking and assembling dishes, ensuring timely service during peak hours.
Help with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients properly.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and organised environment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and contribute to a positive working atmosphere.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hospitality or culinary role is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse kitchen environment.
A passion for cooking and an eagerness to develop culinary skills further.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by the business needs.
