We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a keen interest in developing their culinary skills within a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times. Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under the guidance of senior chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Support the team in managing food production processes efficiently. Participate in the plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet restaurant standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods. Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting any shortages. Contribute to menu planning and development by providing feedback on dishes prepared.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, showcasing your culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques. Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous for fostering a collaborative work atmosphere. A background in hospitality enhances your understanding of customer service expectations within the restaurant industry. Familiarity with food safety practices is essential to maintain hygiene standards in food production. Culinary experience will be beneficial for executing recipes accurately and efficiently.
