As a Commis Chef at Poolhouse, your role is to learn the foundations of professional cookery while supporting the smooth running of the kitchen. You'll work under the guidance of senior chefs, helping with preparation, cooking, and organisation. This is a hands-on learning role where curiosity, teamwork, and attention to detail are key. With dedication, you'll gain the skills needed to grow into more senior kitchen positions.

+ Prep and basic cooking tasks completed accurately, efficiently, and on time + Section kept tidy, stocked, and guest-ready with support from senior chef
+ Clear, respectful communication with teammates and managers
+ Willingness to learn and take feedback positively
+ Consistent progress in skills, speed, and confidence
+ Supporting the team during busy service without losing focus

Key Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and basic cooking under supervision Keep work areas clean, organised, and stocked Follow hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards at all times Label and store ingredients correctly, reducing waste Support senior chefs during busy service Ask questions, seek feedback, and proactively learn new skills Take pride in accuracy, presentation, and consistency
