Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team on a part time basis, we have sites within Inverclyde and grow our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a desire to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. As a Commis, you will play an essential role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of senior chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards. Support team management by collaborating effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Participate in the supervision of kitchen activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. Contribute to menu planning and execution, providing input based on culinary experience. Ensure all ingredients are properly stored and labelled, following food safety regulations. Assist in serving dishes during peak service times, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Skills

Supervising experience within a kitchen environment is advantageous. Strong background in food production and preparation techniques. Proven ability to manage a team effectively, fostering a collaborative work atmosphere. Culinary experience with a passion for cooking and hospitality. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate others in a fast-paced environment.
