Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate commis / cdp at the kings arms in marazion. This will mainly be a daytime role Monday to Friday but the successful Candidate will need to be able to cover the other chefs holidays when required.

This should never exceed 45hrs. We are a small team and who all muck in with kitchen duties, so some washing up and cleaning will be required. At times you will be working on your own so experience in all sections of the kitchen Is a must.

We would hope the individual could start in the next few weeks and this would be a year round position.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining high levels of quality and consistency Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation and cooking processes Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times Assist in managing inventory, including ordering supplies as needed Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations Participate in menu planning and development as required

Skills

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques Supervising experience, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a kitchen team Excellent knowledge of food safety practices and regulations Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills, fostering teamwork within the kitchen Previous experience in team management is advantageous A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service If you are enthusiastic about cooking and eager to contribute to a vibrant kitchen atmosphere, we encourage you to apply
