We have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Support Worker to join our new Deaf Hub team at the Communication Specialist College - Doncaster.
We are a specialist college for students who have Individual communication needs including:
Deafness / hard of hearing
Autistic Spectrum Conditions
Learning disabilities and difficulties
At the Communication Specialist College Doncaster, we are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are seeking dedicated and skilled Communication Support Workers (CSWs) to join our team and support our post-16 students who are D/deaf or hard-of-hearing within our Deaf Hub.
These positions are offered on a full-time, permanent contract basis with a start date for the successful applicant in the new academic year.
Can you demonstrate:
BSL Level 2
GCSE Math's and English Grade C and above (willingness to work towards)
Learning Support Qualification (willingness to work towards)
Experience working with D/deaf and hard-of-hearing students in an educational setting.
Experience of working with adults with hard of hearing, learning difficulties and/or disabilities
Experience of teaching small groups of students or other relevant groups, including direction of support staff
Experience of planning, delivering, and monitoring learning
Knowledge of deaf culture and issues affecting deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
Knowledge of CPOMS and RARPA
