Job Description


The Communications and Engagement Co-ordinator will be situated in the School of Arts, Languages and Culture, working collaboratively across the Faculty of Humanities. This is to support the effective delivery of internal and external communications campaigns, events and initiatives which support both strategic objectives and outcomes.

A trusted partnership with the Faculty of Humanities Marketing, Communications and Recruitment Team will be key to this role. You will help develop and maintain the relationship and this will enable you to share best practice between the Faculty team and School Office, helping you to optimise the channels of communication as part of this strong collaboration and co-ordination.

Some of the key highlights of the role include:

  • Social media management, including channel growth and content planning.
  • Events support for departments within the School of Arts, Languages and Culture.
  • A fast-paced, challenging environment with opportunities to be involved in a variety of projects.
As part of the School communications team, you will provide expert advice, challenge and support to the teams that you work with so that communication is at the heart of planning and decision making. This includes project support, integrated campaigns and events planning.

You will be responsible for the delivery of research and internal School communications, in partnership with the School Senior Communications and Engagement Officer. Delivering effective and timely information on all school matters is a key part of the role due the variety of departments we work with. You will also support in developing, delivering and monitoring external communication campaigns, in partnership with the Humanities Research Communications Team, for all School Departments with the aim of enhancing visibility and reputation in an increasingly competitive higher education environment.
