ABOUT THE ROLE

Playing a pivotal role within the PR & Communications function at Hearst UK, the Communications Executive will work collaboratively to plan and build compelling content that enhances Hearst UK\'s external positioning in the industry, and ensures all of Hearst UK\'s staff feel informed, connected and engaged via multiple internal platforms. The Communications Executive will also provide support for events, awards and industry memberships, and work closely with Hearst UK\'s in-house design team to develop corporate branding and manage its usage.

Working with a variety of stakeholders across Hearst UK the Communications Executive will have their finger firmly on the pulse of Hearst UK news, and be able to scope out and create quality content at pace. Communications activity encompasses, but is not limited to, corporate social media posts, corporate website and blog, intranet content, support for company \'All Staff\' events.

The role will be instrumental in providing support delivering compelling, quality, consistent and timely content across all specified areas, for the PR & Communications team and wider stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Content creation & scheduling:

  • Hearst UK corporate social channels
  • Plan and manage content calendar for external and internal comms
  • Regular tracking/team reporting
  • Hearst UK corporate websites
  • Refresh content as and when required
  • Occasional tracking/team reporting
  • Hearst UK blog
  • Support with ideation and copywriting for Hearst blog when required
  • Hearst UK intranet (HearstHub)
  • Support with intranet redesign, daily content and internal stakeholder management after launch
  • Weekly internal CEO missive, Headlines @ Hearst
  • Support gathering content, copywriting and with distribution process
  • Corporate bios and photo management
  • Create and refresh content when required for leadership team and senior execs
  • Organise photo sessions proactively when required
  • Internal signage at Hearst UK HQ, House of Hearst (lift screens)
  • Support with scheduling, content creation and design team liaison
Events support:
  • Monthly All Staff meetings
  • Support as and when required with speakers, logistics, supporting content (liaising with video/design teams to produce sizzle reels, graphics, etc)
  • There may be a requirement to support on other ad hoc internal events
  • Industry/client events
  • Provide planning support as and when required for industry/client events
  • There may be a requirement to attend industry events from time to time
Awards & memberships support:
  • Industry groups/memberships
  • Provide administrative support as and when required for industry awards (entries and event co-ordination) and corporate sponsorship and memberships
Branding - guidelines, templates, collateral:
  • Work closely with Hearst UK\'s in-house design team when required to develop corporate branding and manage its usage
Team requirements:
  • Attend bi-weekly team planning meetings.
  • Regular tracking and reporting (social audience, corporate website analytics, internal comms engagement).
  • Event attendance (on and off-site) when required.
  • To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.
You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time

  • WordPress and CRM platform skills desirable
