As a Communications Manager, you will join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in developing and executing our business communications strategies. Whilst we sell our salads under our consumer brands, our business, GrowUp Farms, has an amazing story to tell, and we have a significant ambition to establish ourselves as a leading British grower and supplier of sustainable food. You will work closely with various internal departments and external stakeholders to effectively convey our company brand messages, enhance our business reputation, and foster positive relationships with key audiences.

Requirements

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

Strategic Communications Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business communications strategies that align with the company\'s goals and objectives.
  • Identify key target audiences, analyse their communication preferences, and tailor messaging and channels accordingly.
  • Create a strategic roadmap for business communications initiatives, including media relations, internal communications, public affairs, and crisis communications.
Media Relations: Working alongside our PR agency:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media representatives, journalists, and industry influencers where appropriate.
  • Brief and approve newsworthy stories, press releases, and thought leadership articles to relevant media outlets.
Internal Communications:
  • Develop and execute internal communication plans to effectively engage and inform employees across the organisation.
  • Coordinate and distribute internal communications to promote transparency and alignment.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, including town hall meetings, employee surveys, and communication training programs.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistent internal messaging and promote a positive company culture.
Corporate Branding and Reputation Management:
  • Own the GrowUp brand identity guidelines and ensure brand consistency across all communications.
  • Monitor and manage our online reputation, including social media platforms, review sites, and industry forums.
  • Implement proactive strategies to enhance our reputation with key stakeholder groups.
  • Provide guidance and support in crisis communications, including developing crisis response plans and managing communication during sensitive situations.
Stakeholder Relations:
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, industry associations, government bodies, and community organisations.
  • Coordinate participation in industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements to enhance the company\'s visibility and thought leadership of our senior management team.
  • Collaborate across the business to develop compelling communication materials for stakeholder engagement, such as investor updates, annual reports, sustainability reports, and corporate presentations.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Corporate Communications Manager or similar role, preferably in a corporate or agency environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communications strategies for both internal and external engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in managing internal communications initiatives, including employee engagement programs and change management communications.
  • Proficiency in leveraging digital platforms and social media.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyse data, and provide insights to drive communication strategies
