: 24 hour rotating shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off)

What Does a Dispatcher Do?





As a Dispatch Controller, you are the critical link between the public and frontline officers. When someone calls 999, you're the calm, decisive voice that:


Assesses the situation and applies the THRIVE+ risk model Prioritises incidents and allocates resources Monitors officer safety and provides real-time updates Coordinates responses across emergency services

In short, you'll be at the heart of emergency response -making split-second decisions that protect lives and support policing across North Yorkshire.

Key Requirements




Essential:

Previous experience as a Dispatcher in police or emergency services within the last 5 years

Radio experience

OR

strong experience in

logistics/traffic planning or similar

with proven ability to manage complex operations Excellent decision-making and communication skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive information Flexibility to work a 24-hour rotating shift pattern
