Our Communications Officer will join our in-house Marketing and Communications team, and will be based at our modern Prospect Place offices in Starbeck, Harrogate.



What you'll be working on



Research, develop, create and implement effective communications in a variety of formats including, but not exclusively, written content for social media, posters, web articles, newsletters, colleague guides, press releases for colleagues, external customers and stakeholders. Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of posting via digital channels. Write, optimise, and update content for the website, newsletters, print materials, and social media - while supporting the planning and creation of posts for social media. To plan, coordinate and write colleague communications including our quarterly Talk magazine. Handle media enquiries and create effective news releases to gain positive press coverage, managing and organising robust relationships with each media outlet. Research, prepare and write award entries for the business, considering all award criteria. To develop positive and productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners including media. To support the Transdev Blazefield team with creation and proof reading of content for presentations, business cases, tenders and other business needs. To carry out any other duties or ad hoc tasks that may be reasonably required in line with main duties.

We're looking for you to have:



With an exceptional level of English writing skills. Excellent planning, attention to detail and organisational skills. Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office software suite especially Word and PowerPoint. Understanding and competence using popular social media tools including Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter and LinkedIn. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels both internally and externally to the company. Highly motivated with capability to work independently. Adaptable to change and willing to support other team members when required.

And it would be desirable if you have:



Experience in journalism or bid/tender writing. Familiarity with tools such as Campaign Monitor, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Loomly and Umbraco CMS. To have experience in using AI tools for writing and research purposes.
