Community Support Worker Team Leader/Mentor

to join our growing team and play a key role in mentoring staff and delivering care.

Job Overview



As a Team Leader/Mentor, you'll support service users with day-to-day care needs while also helping to lead, coach, and develop a team of care staff. This role is ideal for someone who has experience in care and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities



Care Duties:



Support with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting) Prepare meals and assist with eating if required Complete light domestic tasks (laundry, cleaning, shopping) Monitor health and well-being, including weight and mood changes Support medication administration or prompting Promote independence through activities and community engagement

Team Leader Duties:



Conduct staff observations and competency assessments Provide mentoring and on-the-job training to new and existing staff Attend and contribute to management meetings Participate in the

On-Call Rota

(shared basis) Undertake any additional training required to meet the expectations of the Team Leader role Demonstrate a strong understanding of policies and procedures, and consistently reflect our ethos and values Show the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Communicate effectively with team members, actively listen to concerns, and foster strong working relationships

What We're Looking For



Essential:



Previous experience in a care/support worker role Compassionate, patient, and reliable Good communication and interpersonal skills Able to work under pressure and remain calm Confident using a smartphone or tablet. Ability to travel between service users in the community

Desirable:



Experience mentoring or supervising staff NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or willing to work towards this.
