We're looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and outgoing Activities & Events Coordinator to join our team at Age UK East Grinstead & District, helping us enrich the lives of older people in our community.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of our centre, where you'll be the friendly face greeting our visitors. You'll work closely with volunteers, entertainers, and community partners to create a vibrant, inclusive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Purpose of the Role:



To coordinate and deliver a diverse and engaging programme of activities, events, and outings at the Glen Vue Community Hub, promoting social inclusion and enhancing the wellbeing of older people. This role involves front-of-house responsibilities, staff and volunteer coordination, and the development of new initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:



Plan, organise, and facilitate a varied timetable of in-house activities, ensuring they are accessible, enjoyable, and meet the interests of attendees. Lead the day-to-day delivery of the centre's programme, acting as the primary point of contact for visitors and ensuring a welcoming environment. Responsible for manning the reception area, after 1.30pm Tue - Thu and all-day on Friday's, ensuring a welcoming front-of-house presence for all visitors Coordinate external trips and the annual holiday, managing logistics, bookings, and risk assessments in close communication with the Head of Community Development Engage with entertainers, trainers, and community partners to enhance the activity offerings. Promote activities through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and community outreach. Develop and produce a centre newsletter and activity timetable and communicate these via the organisations CRM system on a regular basis, ensuring timely and accurate communication with members Train, allocate and support volunteers, fostering their involvement in activity delivery and centre operations. Collect and review feedback from participants to inform continuous improvement of the programme. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, safeguarding policies, and organisational procedure in conjunction with the Operations Co Ordinator Develop new activities that align with the needs and preferences of the community. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as reasonably required by the Head of Community Development
