Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Community Delivery Officer dedicated to empowering professionals and communities with the knowledge and tools they need to recognise and take decisive action against threats, risks, vulnerabilities, and harm.



This role will require you to work flexibly to meet customer requirements, readily move between agendas, activities, and audiences, and deliver at pace and to a high standard.


Salary:

32,597 to 35,412 per annum


Contract Type:

Permanent.


Working Pattern:

Full-time (37 hours per week)


Location:

County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ



Regular attendance at your designated base location will also be necessary, and there will opportunities for some remote work. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate.



You may need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes are available.


About the Job


Our work in the Community Safety and Wellbeing team on any given day can often feel quite different from the next! There will be some key responsibilities likely to feature in this role, including:


Informing, engaging, and supporting professionals, communities, and local agencies on a variety of interconnected topics, including how to recognise signs of criminal activity, exploitation, radicalisation and increased vulnerability. Providing guidance on making referrals related to radicalisation and other safeguarding concerns, as well as developing the reporting of and response to community tensions and hate crimes. Work on a variety of complex issues to promote community cohesion and keep communities safe, identifying practical and resource-efficient solutions, as well as providing ongoing support and consultation to colleagues and partners. Developing and delivering awareness raising material for communities and professionals in order to reduce risk -this includes preparing website content and reports and supporting training delivery and awareness raising events or initiatives. Developing effective relationships with professional colleagues, partner agencies, District & Borough Councils, voluntary sector organisations, and communities to represent the team and promote their involvement in a range of workstreams. Maintain records of engagement activities, emerging trends and concerns, and generate reports as needed, monitoring performance against strategic objectives and relevant indicators.

Required Qualifications and Skills


Educated to degree level, or extensive experience in a relevant field. Experience in delivering partnership outcomes for key community safety strategies or related agendas within a statutory multi-agency environment. Experience in supporting communities and local agencies with the development of identification and referral pathways to mitigate exploitation, including efforts to address extremism and radicalisation. Proficient IT skills. Able to establish credible working relationships, fostering rapport and developing collaborative and effective ways of working with a diverse range of stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skills to present information clearly, concisely, and accurately in a manner that promotes understanding, whether verbally or in written/electronic formats, to diverse audiences, with confidence in addressing challenging subject matter. Self-motivated and able to take initiative to develop work while maintaining a clear understanding of the team's responsibilities and the wider context.
