Retina UK occupies a unique position in the fight against inherited sight loss. We specialise in funding cutting edge research into inherited retinal conditions and offer dedicated support and information to the thousands of people living with these conditions.
Inherited sight loss is caused by a range of genetic conditions and affects tens of thousands of people in the UK alone. Diagnosis can be made at any age, often in children and young people. It is the most common cause of sight loss in people of working age.
To date we have invested more than 17.5 million into groundbreaking research. We are proud to support some of the best scientists and clinicians in the fields of ophthalmology and genetics. A huge amount of time, effort and resource has been invested into the organisation in recent years and there should be no doubt that we're poised for significant and strategic growth.
