How you'll make a difference:

As a Community Meals Driver, you will make a difference to members of the community by delivering nutritious meals for those who may not be able to cook for themselves.


What you will be doing:
You will be part of a dedicated team providing a vital service to a customers throughout South Gloucestershire. Working independently, you will have a regular round providing the opportunity to get to know your customers and build relationships. As a driver, you will be able to navigate your way around the South Gloucestershire area confidently to deliver community meals in a timely manner.

What we need from you:
It is essential that you have a full valid driving licence for this post. Ideally, you will have knowledge of the South Gloucestershire area. You must be comfortable working independently, with strong interpersonal skills and be confident in interacting with people. We require you to be confident in making decisions and knowing when to escalate any concerns. You will enjoy working at pace and have the ability to balance your schedule with the needs of your customer.

What you need to know:
Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays. You will be based out of the council offices at Badminton Road, Yate, BS37 5AF. Weekend work (one weekend in four) shifts are: 10:45am - 14:15pm. Allowance: Sunday enhancement (time & half) Salary is pro-rated to hours worked. Your uniform will be provided. We will offer food hygiene and allergen training if required. Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
