As a Pharmacist at our cutting-edge, automated online pharmacy, you will oversee and ensure the accuracy, safety, and compliance of automated prescription processing systems. You will collaborate with AI-driven fulfilment technologies and robotic dispensing units to maintain the highest standards of patient care.
Your role includes reviewing electronic prescriptions, verifying medication interactions, providing virtual consultations to patients, and ensuring that automated dispensing and packaging systems adhere to regulatory and quality requirements.
This position blends traditional pharmaceutical expertise with digital innovation -- ideal for pharmacists passionate about technology, automation, and accessible healthcare delivery.
This is a remote pharmacy, with no face-to-face patient contact. You will conduct services, such as Pharmacy First, NHS Contraception Service, DMS and NMS via telephone or video consultations. You will also aid in the clinical checking, dispensing and checking of "medication pouches" produced by out robot, along with our resident Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pharmacy Service Provision
Be the responsible pharmacist at times when the Superintendent Pharmacist is not on the premises
Actively manage pharmacy service delivery, making optimal use of resources available and ensuring high quality, safe, patient-centred and progressive community pharmacy services, backed up by relevant standard operating procedures.
Preparing and checking medication prescribed to the patient, including pouched medication.
Identifying potential interactions between drugs and providing information to the patient
Ordering stock and ensuring that it is kept in appropriate conditions
Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all medication processed through the pharmacy
Offering advice on medication doses, side effects and other aspects of drug interaction
Delivering remote pharmacy services such as Pharmacy First, NHS Contraception Service, NMS, DMS and other services that are introduced.
Working with the pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, friendly workplace
Identify and manage risks to service users, public and staff, maintaining the risk register and improving/strengthening medicines safety within the pharmacy.
Actively seek feedback from service users and analyse key performance indicators to identify and implement opportunities for service improvements and innovation.
Lead and support initiatives to increase efficiency and improve patient and practice experience.
Ensure errors, complaints and incidents are managed within the company's guidelines.
Essential Criteria
Currently a Registered Pharmacist in England with an active GPhC number
Experience of working in community pharmacies
IT literate and confident with new technology
Able to provide services, such as Pharmacy First, NHS Contraception Service, DMS, NMS and others that are developed.
Desirable Criteria
Experience of working in an online pharmacy previously
Experience of working with automated dispensing machines
Independent prescribing qualification
Postgraduate leadership qualification
