Role Purpose
The Community Programme Coordinator is responsible for the high-quality coordination and delivery of inclusive programmes for children, young people, and families at Central Park. The role plays a key part in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-organised hub, ensuring activities are engaging, accessible, and responsive to local need.
Working closely with the Project Manager and Family Liaison Officer, the Coordinator will turn strategy into action, planning sessions, supporting staff and volunteers, building positive relationships with families and partners, and ensuring programmes run smoothly day to day. The role balances hands-on delivery with organisation, communication, and care, helping participants develop confidence, routine, skills, and a sense of belonging.
This role is central to maintaining consistency, quality, and impact across Central Park programmes, while contributing to monitoring, learning, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver weekly programmes for children and young people
Plan sessions, activities, and timetables in line with community need
Build strong relationships with families, schools, and partners
Support and supervise volunteers, young leaders, and sessional staff
Manage bookings, registers, attendance data, and feedback
Ensure sessions are safe, inclusive, and well-resourced
Support promotion of activities through local networks
Assist with events, holiday programmes, and community days
Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and funder reporting
Support basic hub operations including setup and shutdown
Person Specification
Essential
Experience working with children and young people 7-24 years
Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities
Strong organisational and communication skills
Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
Good IT and administration skills
Desirable
Youth work, playwork, or coaching qualification
Experience supporting volunteers
Knowledge of local community networks
