Community Project Co-ordinator

As a key member of the Incubate and Develop team your super power will be your ability to build trusting relationships with the local community. With your ears and eyes to the ground, you will collaboratively shape future projects with local people, being continually responsive to community needs.



You will be responsible for planning, staffing, managing and evaluating a range of projects. You will work with a broad range of resources and across many projects enabling teams, including volunteers from the Community, to deliver projects which effect change for themselves and others. You will be able to engage a diverse range of people, sometimes facing complex challenges, in a strengths-based way to build community resilience.



The ideal candidate will thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, taking responsibility for their own workload, and building their skills and knowledge as part of an evolving organisation. You will contribute to the safe and supportive culture of GL11, inspiring both partners and community, making sure our vision, values and key aims are a living part of all our work.



This role is based at the GL11 Community Hub in Cam, Gloucestershire with a need for some evening and weekend working. Remote working opportunities are very limited as community connection is an important part of the role.

1. Responsibilities and Duties



The list below describes the main responsibilities and duties of the role but is not a finite



list. You will be required to carry out any other duties commensurate with this post;



Project Development



Work with a broad range of volunteers to design, develop and deliver projects. Providing the volunteers with support to allow them to succeed.



Work with the community to identify projects to feed into the overall programme.



Build trusting relationships with the community, enabling them to act with support as needed.



Prepare Risk Assessments as required and upload to Upshot database.



Ensure all services are equally accessible to everyone within the community.



Assist in other areas of organisation as required



Project co-ordination



Full responsibility for planning and delivery of projects within allocated budget and in line with project aims.



Network and build relationships with all stakeholders.



Work in a collaborative way with individuals involved in projects, the whole GL11 team and external agencies.



Embed inclusive and non-discriminatory approach across the organisation.



Have full familiarity with all sessions and operational services in and for the community both at GL11 hub and in community settings and be able to step in to deliver services as needed.



Reporting and Evaluation



Be a confident user of Upshot as appropriate, registering and updating information to meet marketing fundraising and monitoring needs, ensuring that GL11 reports accurately on the impact of projects and activities.



Meet regularly with your Line Manager to assess and evaluate progress with projects.



Provide data and work input into monitoring reports.



Be self-sufficient for all aspects of administration.



Flexible Working



Projects and services are delivered across the whole week. Be flexible to working at least 1 evening per week and Saturdays as needed by the projects and activities.



People Support and Governance



Successfully managing and coordinating volunteers



Identify and refer those needing additional support into other internal and external services.



Work to address Safeguarding / Code of Conduct concerns as needed and in line with the relevant internal and external policies and procedures.



Offer one to one support when relevant and appropriate.



Work within GL11 Community Hub policies, including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Equalities and Confidentiality.

Experience of



Co-ordinating and supporting volunteers



Co-ordinating projects to time, budget and outcome objectives



Contribution to safeguarding and risk management



Compiling data and evidencing impact of interventions



Working with volunteers and paid staff within the community sector



Using a strengths-based approach to working with older adults and adults with additional needs



Knowledge and Understanding



Passion for engaging the community to realise their full potential



Understanding of the social and economic determents to health and wellbeing

Skills and Abilities



Excellent communication skills (written & spoken)

IT skills - ability to use Microsoft office at least to intermediate level



Able to organise and manage own workload

Hold a current driving license and have access to transport
