Community Support Worker Team Leader/Mentor
to join our growing team and play a key role in mentoring staff and delivering care.
Job Overview
As a Team Leader/Mentor, you'll support service users with day-to-day care needs while also helping to lead, coach, and develop a team of care staff. This role is ideal for someone who has experience in care and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Care Duties:
Support with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
Prepare meals and assist with eating if required
Complete light domestic tasks (laundry, cleaning, shopping)
Monitor health and wellbeing, including weight and mood changes
Support medication administration or prompting
Promote independence through activities and community engagement
Team Leader Duties:
Conduct staff observations and competency assessments
Provide mentoring and on-the-job training to new and existing staff
Attend and contribute to management meetings
Participate in the
on-call rota
(shared basis)
Undertake any additional training required to meet the expectations of the Team Leader role
Demonstrate a strong understanding of policies and procedures, and consistently reflect our ethos and values
Show the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Communicate effectively with team members, actively listen to concerns, and foster strong working relationships
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Previous experience in a care/support worker role
Compassionate, patient, and reliable
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work under pressure and remain calm
Confident using a smartphone or tablet for basic tasks
Ability to travel between service users in the community
Desirable:
Experience mentoring or supervising staff
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)

Pay: 12.95-14.45 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
