About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Compliance Manager to oversee and advance compliance across our farming operations, both owned and third-party, ensuring adherence to legal, ethical, and company standards.
As Compliance Manager, you'll take ownership of our agricultural compliance framework, working across a diverse and growing network of indoor and outdoor farming sites. You'll lead a small team and collaborate with farmers, field teams, and senior stakeholders to uphold best practices in animal welfare and supplier assurance.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real influence shaping not just compliance, but the future of responsible farming at Cranswick.
Key Responsibilities
Lead compliance activities across Cranswick-owned and third-party pig farming sites
Ensure full alignment with legislation, industry standards, and Cranswick's high welfare, ethical and environmental standards
Develop and implement compliance audits, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support, coach, and audit farms to ensure best practices in animal welfare, biosecurity, and sustainability
Manage and support a small compliance team; oversee day-to-day performance and professional development
Represent the business during external audits and stakeholder visits.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of agricultural legislation, industry trends, and policy changes
Oversee reporting of key compliance data to internal and external stakeholders
About You
Proven experience in a compliance, animal welfare, or agricultural management role ideally within a farming, food production, or agri-business setting
Strong working knowledge of animal welfare legislation and standards (e.g., Red Tractor, RSPCA Assured, etc.)
Confident leading audits, investigations, and data reporting
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills - able to influence, educate, and challenge constructively
Demonstrated ability to lead others, manage projects, and drive compliance improvements
Full UK Driving Licence is essential
