About Directorate
The Assurance and Public Protection directorate ensures democratic accountability of council services. The directorate work together to monitor and ensure compliance and provide assurance of Barnet being an engaged and effective council that protects the public purse. They provide enforcement services that engage and protect residents and businesses to support a safer and healthier borough.
About the role
Barnet Council is committed to growing our own talent and developing a motivated, skilled, and suitably qualified team. We are pleased to create this fantastic apprenticeship opportunity within our Customer and Business Development team that provide day to day operational and administrative support for Assurance and Public Protection services.
You will embark on a rewarding career within Barnet Council which has a proven track record of apprentice success. Joining a vibrant and supportive team you will have an opportunity to learn and practice skills and knowledge required for a successful career in business administration and customer service. Your training will be funded and you will be given study time to support professional accreditation. You will join a Level 3 apprenticeship course that you will attend every week. The length of the course is typically 18 months. Successful completion of the course will result in the award of a Level 3 Business Administration Qualification.

The Compliance and Operations Apprentice is an exciting opportunity to showcase your organisational skills and join the Assurance and Business Development team. You will be working closely with senior managers to deliver high quality compliance and business support and your responsibilities will range from assisting with system administration, auditing, conference bookings & recruitment to monitoring mailboxes and office spaces.
