Working within across our service and installations department you will be trained across compressed air systems including: servicing of compressors, dryers, filters, condensate management; leak detection; installation of pipework systems. This is a hands-on job role which involves travel and learning on the job with experienced engineers.
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do at work
Elements of the job role may include:
Servicing of compressors, dryers, filters, condensate management
Leak detection
Installation of pipework systems including aluminium, screwed, crimped and other systems.
General health and safety in engineering construction
Specific pipefitting safety and safe working conditions
Technical drawings
Use of basic hand and power tools
Cutting and preparing pipe
Cold bending ferrous and non ferrous pipe
Fabricating pipework and supports,
Assembling and installing pipework systems
Preparing and testing pipework systems
The role may involve working away during the working week for which an allowance is made
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Your training plan
This role will include a Compressed Air and Vacuum Technician (CAVT) Apprenticeship
The training will be completed via block release from the training provider. This will supported by training at the apprentice's workplace - either in the workshop or at a customer's site.

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4 (C)) desirable
GCSE or equivalent Mathematics (Grade 4 (C)) desirable

The role may involve working away during the working week for which an allowance is made. The role is physically demanding and involves working at height. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to work with your hands and have good levels of Maths and English GCSE qualifications. Full training is provided for all aspects of the position.
