About the Role



As a CAD Technician, you will support our engineering and product development teams by creating and maintaining technical drawings and 3D CAD models for ACL's hygienic fittings and assemblies. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-quality design outputs in a regulated, quality-conscious environment.

Responsibilities



Develop and maintain 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models (e.g., fittings, clamps, assemblies) in line with ISO/BPE/DIN standards. Translate engineering concepts and specifications into accurate CAD documentation. Collaborate with engineers and production teams to implement design revisions and maintain accurate records. Ensure all CAD work complies with ACL's drawing standards, tolerances, and material specifications. Generate and update technical documentation to support manufacturing, assembly, and quality assurance processes. Manage and organize CAD files and design data. Support prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives through accurate technical outputs. Liaise with procurement and production teams to clarify design intent and resolve technical queries. Contribute to design reviews and maintain awareness of hygienic design best practices.

Qualifications



HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Design / CAD.

Required Skills



Proven experience in 2D drafting and 3D modelling using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software. Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14, ISO 128) and technical tolerancing. Familiarity with stainless-steel fabrication and manufacturing processes. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Proactive approach to learning and applying hygienic and pharmaceutical industry standards.

Preferred Skills



Knowledge of hygienic/pharmaceutical design standards such as ASME BPE or 3-A. Experience with clamp-type fittings or pressure-rated stainless-steel assemblies. Familiarity with PDM systems or engineering change management processes. Understanding of CNC machining, fabrication.
