Job Description

OVERVIEW:



To assist the Conference & Banqueting Management Team in the effective running of the Conference & Banqueting Department. To oversee the setting up of the function rooms, running functions & ensuring that closing procedures are adhered to.

Conference Duties:



To ensure that all SOP's are maintained in all area's relating to the Events Operations.

To ensure all function rooms are set up to the required standard as per the SOP manual, and to the client's request via function sheets prior to the start times.

Service all Function rooms during lunch breaks, replenishing water, glasses etc. as per SOP Manual.

To up-sell to conference clients at every opportunity.

Ensure all equipment is in working order, and report any defects immediately.

To assist in the cleaning of the conference centre, syndicate rooms, lounge areas and kitchen area.

Liaise with Events Department Manager with regard to the function sheet, room layouts etc.,

Banqueting Duties:



To ensure food and drink are served correctly and to be familiar with the menu and ingredients of all the dishes and any accompaniments.

To ensure all tables are set correctly and cleared down to the standards set in the SOP manual.

To be polite and helpful to customers at all times and to assist and improve the operational efficiency of the department.

To ensure that as much preparation is done for the next function that is coming up at every opportunity, whilst on shift.

To ensure all the equipment within the department, ensuring it is clean and stored correctly after all functions.

Ensure all table linen is monitored and used correctly, paying particular attention to wastage, linen that is unsuitable for use, abused linen etc.

To up sell liquor at all opportunities in all functions.

To ensure all function rooms are set correctly, are ready for use and of the correct standard, prior to the function commencing.

To assist and improve the operational efficiency within the Banqueting department.

To produce a monthly stocktake for Banqueting crockery, cutlery and glassware.

To ensure all function kitchens and service areas are left clean and tidy at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: Up to 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
