Job Title: Carpenter/General Builder - Self Employed Immediate Start

Pay:

160-180 per day as van is included in package (Depending on Experience)

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with occasional night shifts and weekend work)

Job Overview:

As a Carpenter/General Builder at MZ Contracts, you will be an integral part of our team, supporting our site operations and ensuring the successful completion of refurbishment and maintenance projects. You will have the opportunity to work alongside an established team, contributing your expertise to a variety of tasks while ensuring high standards of work and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance & Refurbishment:

Attend sites to perform planned and reactive maintenance across various commercial and public buildings. Carry out general repairs and refurbishments, including carpentry, basic plumbing, painting & general repairs Install or repair items such as fire doors, partitions etc

Site Coordination:

Work collaboratively with clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard. Report any issues or concerns to site managers promptly. Maintain clear and effective communication with the team and clients.

Multi-Trade Responsibilities:

Perform multi-trade duties including basic plumbing, painting, and carpentry. Troubleshoot and resolve building issues as they arise. Ensure high-quality workmanship in all tasks.

Customer Service:

Maintain excellent customer service levels by addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction. Ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standards, in line with client expectations.

Requirements:

Experience & Skills:

Proven experience as a Carpenter/General Builder with a high level of competency in various trades. Strong understanding of general fabric trades (carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, etc.). Ability to carry out general repairs and refurbishment work on time and to a high standard.

Personal Attributes:

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team. A flexible and reliable approach, particularly during busy periods.

Qualifications & Certifications:

Valid UK driving license (essential). DBS check (required upon hire). Any relevant trade qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.) are mandatory

Additional Requirements:

Willingness to travel to project sites across West, North & Central London, Berkshire and Essex. We are based in Surrey. A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to grow with the company.
