We are currently seeking a Construction Operative / Site Supervisor that will be responsible for carrying out a range of construction activities in accordance with their trade training and experience. Operating under the direction of the Site Supervisor, the role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with both company and client standards. The successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a proactive approach to site operations.
You will be ideally based within a daily working a radius of Leeds, however our works often span across the U.K which will involve occasional lodging away.
Working within the rail sector, our clients including Network Rail, tier 1 NWR suppliers and the train operating companies.
Works are predominantly buildings and civils based, however a good all-round knowledge of building and civils disciplines would be advantageous, open to all trades
Key Responsibilities:
Execute assigned construction tasks in accordance with trade qualifications and company standards
Adhere strictly to site-specific safety protocols and established safe systems of work
Maintain personal safety and contribute to a secure working environment for all personnel
Report incidents and accidents promptly in line with company and site procedures
Attend site briefings, meetings, and training sessions as directed
Implement instructions issued by client representatives and company management
Operate company vehicles and plant machinery only when authorised and appropriately certified
Comply fully with Safety, Quality, and Environmental (SQE) policies and procedures
Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and ethical conduct
Notify management of any limitations in competence or knowledge that may impact safe task execution
Preferred Qualifications, but not essential:
NVQ Level 2 in Joinery, Bricklaying, or General Labouring
Full UK Driver's Licence
CSCS or equivalent construction training
Valid First Aid certification
Mobile Tower Scaffolding (for scaffold erection)
Abrasive Wheels (for cutting tools)
CAT Scan (for underground service detection)
Plant Operator License
PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification for rail-related work
Advantageous qualifications: PTS, COSS, SSSTS, SMSTS, PASMA, IPAF, small tools, Temporary works supervisor/coordinator, First Aid, street works,

Required Experience:
Applicants should possess demonstrable experience in a range of construction disciplines, including:
Rail, road, and drainage work
Operative sort with multiple experience and skills to include, paving, drainage, curbing, joinery and general all-round maintenance related skill sets
